Operation Author - Week 4

It's the end of the first month of...

Operation Author - 365 Actions to succeed as an author

Twitter is featuring a lot in my mission to build a platform as a writer.
My Klout score today is 55.

I've been looking at ways to be more efficient with social media

Day 1 - I started using HooteSuite @HooteSuite.  HooteSuite is a social media management system that operates as a dash board.  There are others as well, Tweetdeck @TweetDeck being the best known.

You can set up a stream for each of your social media channels and take an overview to see what's creating chatter.  I'm still learning but it's easier than flicking between lots of tabs and screens!

Day 2 -  I've arranged a book signing event for the Bronze Box at a really cool indie bookstore in Bristol, Hydra Bookshop on 22nd February

Day 3 - I've been working on a newsletter for Southville Writers, my writing network in Bristol.  I plan to send it out next week but I have arranged an interview with an author, Jo Reed to include in it first

Day 4 - I watched a webinar on Twitter for business http://bit.ly/1dTZFlw

Day 5 - I watched a video on guest blogging to generate Twitter traffic http://bit.ly/1gAflCy

Day 6 - I set up an Author Page on Google+ http://bit.ly/1feWoQo

Day 7 -  I wrote a guest post for a fellow writer in Bristol, Judy Darley - http://bit.ly/LkB82o

This weekend I really need to make some time for writing.  I've not written any more of Solomon's Secrets for a couple of weeks now.  If I'm going to be an author, I need to make time to actually write!

What promotional activities have worked for you this week?
